Ramsons
Allium ursinum

This shot was taken on the banks of the River Severn. This bulbous perennial grows in large patches along side hedgerows. It has oval basal leaves each with three or five lobes and flowers from April to May, reaching a height of about 35cm. It is known as "wild garlic" due to its strong garlic scent.
